Now that all the coffee is processed and shipped, we invited our farmers to come for a coffee tasting. During this time we gave them the opportunity to taste their “own” coffee. We believe it is encouraging for our farmers to see and taste the end product of the coffee they grow every coffee season. The tastings were spread out over two days and we had the privilege to have the administrator of the commune attending as well. After speeches and words of encouragement, we gave everyone some coffee in their own cup or bottle and a dondo (a local snack) on the side. And of course you wonder what the farmers opinion on the coffee is… Our conclusion is that many thought it was quite bitter but with the help of sugar we saw a lot more happy faces.
